A Shoot gun and a Scooter

After church we headed home for a small lunch and naps before we had to go to Jason's moms house for dinner. Olivia always comes up with last minute wishes hat totally catch us off guard. Olivia informed us that she really hoped that the Easter bunny would bring her a "shoot gun". Umm, a what! Olivia is definitely an individual and doesn't follow the typical girlie stereotypes.

Since the Easter bunny was not prepared for this request, he had to make a quick run to Walmart (gotta love Walmart).

Olivia and her "shoot gun", and it looks like the Easter bunny got carried away and brought Owen a scooter:)

Looks like we have the best Easter Bunny ever !!!

The gang is waiting for Nana to say "GO"

Alright Nana said "GO" and off they went...

Looks like Owen is finally getting the hang of this:)

Looks like these two are pleased with their hunt and excited about what's inside

Olivia and Owen could spend hours outside, and what a beautiful it turned out to be!

Olivia found an inch worm, she does not take after me in her love of bugs, dirt, etc..

He is risen! He is risen Indeed!

Aside from all the festivities that come during the holidays, we have tried hard to remind Olivia what Easter is truly about...
So Easter morning we made a yummy breakfast , in which we talked with her about the meaning of Easter...

As we placed the marshmallows in the cinnamon sugar and wrapped them in crescent rolls, we talked about how they prepared Jesus' body with fragrances before they wrapped Him and placed his body in the tomb.
As they baked, I reminded Olivia that on the third day Jesus rose again, with which she replied to me "Yes, I know and then the Easter Bunny came"! Ummm, well!:)

When they came out of the oven, I opened one up to show Olivia that the marshmallow was gone, just like Jesus's body.

Then we hunted for our Easter baskets...

I wanted this morning to run so smoothly, but to be honest it was one of the most stressful mornings we have had in a long time. I tried to take pictures of everyone before church but the sun was to bright for Olivia, and she was crying and Owen would not stand still. So this is what I got....

On the Hunt for the Easter Bunny

Saturday morning we headed to another Easter Egg Hunt with our good friends the Olin's, Morgan,Jay and as Owen says "Massey ".....

They divided all the children up according to their ages

Olivia loved the Easter Bunny, however she informed me that HE was not the real one because she could see his tennis shoes... I didn't know what to say:)

Olivia kept throwing her eggs back because they did not have candy in them, it took a little convincing her that she would get candy at the end, but finally she joined in on the hunt

Poor Owen he missed even the most obvious eggs...

Olivia trying to show the Easter Bunny how many eggs she found

Owen wanted nothing to do with the Easter Bunny

Back inside we go to count our eggs, they gave a prize for the most eggs found and a prize for the least eggs found....

Owen won for his division...that is for the least eggs found

Bless his heart he found a grand total of 5 eggs

Olivia collecting her goody bag....

Until next year.....

Easter egg-stravaganza

My friend Morgan, Dyanna and I helped put together our Sunday Schools Easter Social this year. Because we were unsure of the weather we decided to gather in the gym this year... We had a great turn out!

We have been so blessed to have great friends who have traveled this journey of Marriage, Parenthood and all the in betweens...

Over the years our class has grown a bit...,

We had a short Easter story to read to the kids

Next we had a craft

Lyla and Olivia

This is the next generation of our Sunday School class:)
And of course we had an Easter Egg Hunt planned for them

On your mark, get set, GO!
